It is with great sadness that we report that Jane Slowey, one of our Members, passed away on 7th October 2017.
Jane had been appointed 10/05/16. Jane was previously Chief Executive of the Foyer Federation from 2004 until January 2017. During this time, the Foyer Federation developed policy on youth offending and hosted work to develop a “Young Offenders Academy”. Jane was also a trustee of Commonweal Housing, the British Motor Sports Training Trust and the Learning and Work Institute (formerly NIACE), whose Policy Committee she chaired. She was a director of the Australian Foyer Federation. She was a steering group member of the Letterpress Project, a small voluntary association set up to promote a love of books. Jane was also previously Chief Executive of Birmingham Voluntary Service Council and was an elected member of Birmingham City Council for eight years. In 2009, Jane received a CBE for services to disadvantaged young people and had honorary doctorates from Birmingham University and Newman University.
She will be sadly missed by all at Campus.
